Description
Leica TS12 P R400 Robotic Total Station
Long Description
LEICA TS12 P R400 Robotic Total Station is a high-performance robotic surveying instrument designed for accurate measurement, construction layout, and topographic surveying. Manufactured by Leica Geosystems, the TS12 P combines advanced robotic automation, precise electronic distance measurement, and intelligent target tracking to improve productivity and efficiency in the field.
The TS12 P R400 features Leica PinPoint EDM technology, enabling highly accurate distance measurements with both prism and reflectorless modes. In R400 reflectorless mode, the instrument can measure distances up to 400 meters without a prism, allowing surveyors to capture data on hard-to-reach surfaces such as building facades, towers, and stockpiles. With prism targets, the total station can measure distances up to approximately 3,500 meters, ensuring reliable performance for long-range surveying tasks.
Designed for one-person robotic operation, the TS12 P integrates Automatic Target Recognition (ATR) and PowerSearch technology, which automatically locates and locks onto prisms for faster measurements and efficient workflow. Motorized drives allow remote control through Leica field controllers such as the CS10 or CS15, enabling operators to control the instrument from the prism location.
The instrument delivers high measurement accuracy, typically 1 mm + 1.5 ppm for prism measurements and 2 mm + 2 ppm in reflectorless mode, making it suitable for demanding surveying applications including control surveys, construction staking, monitoring, and infrastructure layout.
Built for challenging field environments, the Leica TS12 P R400 features a rugged IP54-rated housing, wide operating temperature range from −20°C to +50°C, and long battery life of approximately 5–8 hours using Leica Li-ion batteries. These features make it reliable for extended outdoor operations on construction sites and surveying projects.
