Description
Barfield TT1200A Turbine Temperature Tester
Long Description
BARFIELD TT1200A Turbine Temperature Test Set is a portable digital turbine temperature testing and calibration instrument designed for aviation maintenance and aircraft engine diagnostics. Manufactured by Barfield Inc., the TT1200A is used to test and troubleshoot turbine temperature indicating systems, particularly Type-K (Chromel-Alumel) thermocouple systems commonly used in aircraft engines.
The TT1200A is a microprocessor-based, self-contained test set housed in a rugged, high-visibility enclosure and powered by standard batteries, making it ideal for use in hangars or field maintenance environments. It provides technicians with the ability to measure, simulate, and calibrate turbine temperature signals, enabling accurate testing of both analog and modern digital cockpit engine temperature indicators.
This multifunction tester can measure temperature, resistance, and insulation values, allowing maintenance personnel to verify the integrity of thermocouples, system wiring, and cockpit indicators without operating the aircraft engine. The unit can measure thermocouple resistance down to 0.001 Ω, insulation up to 200 MΩ, and simulate temperature signals up to approximately 1372 °C, helping identify faults quickly and reduce aircraft downtime.
The instrument features a backlit alphanumeric display with user prompts, automatic ambient temperature compensation, and the ability to display readings in °C, °F, or millivolts. With its precise measurement capability and portable design, the TT1200A is widely used by aircraft maintenance technicians, MRO facilities, and aviation engineers to maintain accurate turbine temperature monitoring systems and ensure safe engine operation.
