Description
Hilti PLT 300 Total Station
Long Description
The Hilti PLT 300 Total Station is an advanced digital construction layout tool designed to simplify and accelerate jobsite layout tasks using CAD and BIM data. Developed by Hilti, the PLT 300 combines robotic total station technology with intuitive software and a tablet-based controller to allow accurate positioning and measurement on construction sites.
The PLT 300 enables contractors to perform construction staking and layout with a single operator, significantly reducing labor requirements while increasing productivity. Using a motorized green laser pointer and digital controller, the instrument automatically locates layout points selected on the tablet and projects them onto the jobsite in real time. This allows fast marking of positions for formwork, excavation points, MEP installations, walls, and structural elements.
The system HILTI PLT 300 supports 2D and 3D CAD/BIM workflows, enabling users to import project models directly into the device and stake out points accurately according to digital construction plans. With automatic stationing and tilt compensation, the PLT 300 simplifies setup and ensures reliable measurements even on uneven jobsite surfaces.
In terms of performance, the PLT 300 provides distance measurement accuracy of ±3 mm + 10 ppm and an operating layout range of approximately 1.5 to 100 meters. The instrument is built with a rugged IP55 environmental protection rating, making it suitable for harsh construction environments such as outdoor job sites, infrastructure projects, and large commercial building developments.
Powered by Hilti 22V Li-ion batteries, the system delivers up to 5 hours of operating time and can communicate via Wi-Fi connection with the field controller. Its lightweight design (about 5.3 kg) and compact construction make it easy to transport and deploy across large construction areas.
The Hilti PLT 300 is widely used by contractors, surveyors, and construction engineers for applications such as building layout, BIM-to-field positioning, structural alignment, and as-built measurement.
