The Trimble R12i GNSS Receiver is a high-precision Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) receiver designed for professional surveying, mapping, and geospatial data collection. The Trimble R12i integrates the powerful Trimble ProPoint™ GNSS positioning engine, which enhances satellite tracking and signal management to provide improved accuracy and faster initialization compared to earlier receivers. This technology enables surveyors to maintain stable positioning and reliable measurements in areas where GNSS signals may be weak or obstructed.

One of the key innovations of the R12i is Trimble TIP™ tilt compensation technology, which uses an advanced Inertial Measurement Unit (IMU) to allow accurate point measurements even when the survey pole is tilted. This eliminates the need to perfectly level the pole, enabling surveyors to measure points in difficult locations such as building corners, fences, or hazardous areas. With real-time kinematic (RTK) positioning, it can achieve horizontal accuracy of approximately 8 mm and vertical accuracy of about 15 mm, making it suitable for high-precision land surveying, construction layout, GIS mapping, and infrastructure projects.

Built for demanding field conditions, the Trimble R12i features a rugged, lightweight design weighing about 1.12 kg, an integrated antenna, internal radio, and support for correction services such as Trimble CenterPoint RTX, which provides centimeter-level accuracy without requiring a local base station.
